Welcome to Starter For 10. We ask professional wrestlers 10 questions so that you can find out a bit more about your favourite real life superheroes.

On this edition, Ashley Vega answers our questions.

What drew you into professional wrestling?

I have an older brother who was a massive WWE fan so growing up I always knew about it. When I was 6 or 7 I saw Trish Stratus vs Mickie James and it was the first time I had seen the women wrestle, I thought it was amazing and ever since I was hooked and just wanted to do what they did.

Who were your favourite wrestlers going up and who are your favourites now?

Growing up I loved Trish Stratus and Mickie James I’d have to say they were my favourites, I also loved watching The Hardy Boyz and as I got older Layla and Michelle as Lay-Cool I thought were amazing, their characters and how they worked together was so entertaining. As for now I’d have to say I love watching Nikki Cross in NXT, very inspiring.

What made you decide to start training to be a wrestler and where did you start?

I always wanted to wrestle but never was aware I could really do it here in the UK, when I was 14 I looked up training schools and found the PBW Academy and with the success people from that school have had I knew I wanted to go there, and so I did.

Who are your biggest influences in professional wrestling, as a fan and as a wrestler?

Biggest influence has to be Trish, she is the reason I got hooked on professional wrestling. As for now I’m inspired by what the woman in Scotland are doing and the success some of them have now, as said before Nikki Cross is one of them. Also what Sammii Jayne is doing around the UK and with her success I hope to share the ring with her soon.

Who has been your favourite opponent(s) and do you have a favourite match?

My favourite opponent is Angel Hayze, we both trained together and have been in the ring together many times and know each-other so well, we both have a great opportunity coming up for us which i’m looking forward to so keep you’re eyes open for that. And I loved wrestling Lana Austin at SWA it was my biggest crowd to date and enjoyed the experience.

What has been your career highlight(s) so far?

Highlight for me so far is debuting for so many companies very early on in my career such as PCW, SWA and more, next year I have a lot of things already lined up and great opportunities which I’m looking forward to!

Who would be your dream opponent, past or present?

Dream opponent is of course Trish Stratus and always has been. I’d also love to wrestle Sammii Jayne at one point she is amazing at what she does.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

In 5 years time I hope to have gotten my name out further across the Scottish Scene and the UK in general. And to be wrestling every weekend and just having fun with it.
